«GIS for tourism» GIS can use different kind of data to help Tourism Industry stakeholders identify and visualize market opportunities and threats which otherwise may not be possible with data on paper or similar formats.
It can also be of help for research and analytics of existing industry footprint and tourist flow maps for development. Infrastructure supporting tourism industry can be designed, planned, provisioned and maintained by using GIS and IT systems.
The purpose of this website is not only to share my professional and academic development throughout the following years of studies, but also to share general information regarding the relationship between these two important subjects and how this can help improve tourism sustainability development..
